How to open Chrome always maximized

Do right-click on Google Chrome's shortcut and select Properties option.

Now you need to add --start-maximized at the end of the string present in Target text box.

  1. I tried this and it does not work - it gives me an error if I add start-maximized at the end of the string in the target text box. Why is so difficult to open maximized. All other browsers do this with no problem.

  5. This is a very simple solution actually and it DOES work.. People with little knowledge about how codes work will do a slight mistake that will hinder this form working..

    First right click chrome and go to properties..

    Then locate the TARGET area (where the destination of the shortcut leads to)

    Then after the " in the end of the target space.. ADD A SPACE..

    After the space.. add the --start-maximized

    If you forget the space you will run into an error..

    It should work otherwise you are doing it wrong.. (Dont forget the space)

    Example:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --start-maximized

  7. And now this stopped working in a more recent update to Chrome. Currently I am running v.44 on windows 7 and no matter what I do it wont run shortcuts set to run in application mode maximized.

  8. That's because it not only depends chrome, but also if you already have other chrome apps already opened, like hangouts.

  12. I was also getting errors, even when I changed the target string correctly.
    This is what worked for me directly in my code:

    ChromeOptions options = new ChromeOptions();
    options.addArguments("start-maximized");
